Exploring The Creative Power Of Dreams

Exploring The Creative Power Of Dreams

“Have no fear of perfection - you’ll never reach it.”
A quote from the famous Surrealist artist Salvatore Dali.
If you have a chance to visit the Dali Museum in St Petersburg, you will be very impressed.
Currently, my favorite exhibit is The Shape of dreams. It explores 500 years of dream-inspired paintings from the 16th to 20th century. The artists have depicted a common phenomenon of human experience - the dream.
In a dream, we are author, actor, and audience of what unfolds in our sleeping consciousness. Dreams by their unbridled imagery, free the artist to create.
We may ask the same questions of art as we ask of dream.
Where does it come from? How does it work? can it create useful change in us?
Art too, uses its unique form and materials to convey the powerful inner experience that drove its creation.
