Cranbrook Art Museum opened up it's new show Friday night featuring three exhibitions in one. The Truth is I Hear You is a video recording of people in Detroit and Flint intending to expand our understanding of what each city defines as real, authentic, valuable or true.
The second display was 20th century period rooms which reflected some of the key moments in Cranbrook's history.
My favorite part was From the Vaults: Recent Gifts to the Collection. Richard Serra, Robert Rauschenberg and several other outstanding mid century artists were on display. My favorite piece was from the father of color Josef Albers. This image shows how Albers would use the same colors with different backgrounds to effect the colors differently.
